Porsche has celebrated hitting 10 million fans on Facebook in a unique way, a road trip with the impressive 918 Spyder hypercar.
Usually when such “celebrations” are being made by car manufacturers, promotional videos or a simple “thank you” image are being released but since we are talking about one of the biggest sports car manufacturers on the planet, Porsche has done it in a different way: a road trip with the 918 Spyder. The hypercar has been driven 1,000 km across the United Kingdom and a lucky Porsche fan was able to tag along.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the most iconic supercars to ever have been produced by the German based marque. The model in question is also the fastest and most powerful road-legal vehicle in its lineup and it has been officially presented to the public almost two years ago, in a world premiere, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The supercar has been put together in 918 units and it had an expensive price tag but that didn’t stop it from being sold in no time. Underneath its appealing roadster two-door body we can find the 4.6 liter V8 naturally aspirated engine, backed up by no less than two electric motors. The powertrain is rated at 887 HP (661 kW) and 1,275 Nm (940 lb-ft) of torque and this is helping the model reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 340 km/h (210 mph).
