[VIDEO] New Honda Civic is going to Frankfurt

The new generation of the Honda Civic, 2012 model year, will make its official appearance at the next month Frankfurt Motor Show and words like the “echo-free chamber” and “optimized interior refinement” are being used to tell us that the cabin noise has been reduced.

According to the automaker, the new Civic is using the anechoic chamber (echo-free) to fine-tune the cabin insulation, which is basically a modified roof lining and the way it interacts with the bodywork.

“We did not improve the noise and refinement of the new Civic through just one technique. It was the accumulation of lots of little details. My big challenge was to match the noise and vibration levels of our European competitors. I am proud to say that we have achieved our goals”, said the Development Leader – Chassis Kazuo Sunaoshi.

The hours spent in the Honda wind tunnel led to an improved performance and low fuel consumption, along with a low coefficient drag and high-speed stability.

As we said in the first paragraph, the new generation of the Honda Civic will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
