A very rare 1953 Ferrari 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione has been recently sold for a whopping 12 million USD, by RM Auctions.
While some people were busy with the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, at Lake Como in Italy, over the past weekend, others were attending the RM Auctions event, which coincided with the one mentioned above. The piece of resistance sold at the RM Auctions was a very rare classic 1953 Ferrari 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione, which managed to find a new owner for a whopping 12 million USD, or 9.2 million euros.
The 1953 Ferrari 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione was estimated to be sold for around half of the final figure but there were three wealthy people furiously bidding for it and the bids have raised dramatically in the first 20 minutes of the sale. The winner is a man from the United Kingdom, who owns other collectable Ferrari supercars too, including the 250 GTO. The Ferrari 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione in question is powered by a 4.5 liter V12 engine, which is producing a total output of 340 HP, mated to a four-speed manual transmission.
