A 1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Bertone Jet has recently found a new owner, at the Bonhams auction, who had to pay a whopping 4,928,697 USD in order to add it to his garage. The model in question has been made from the last DB4 GT chassis and it was transformed into a Gran Turismo by Giorgetto Giugiaro, for the 1961 Geneva Motor Show. The impressive classic ride has Girling four-wheel disc brakes which allowed it to sprint from 0 to 100 mph and to 0 mph again in under 20 seconds.
The 1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Bertone Jet has numerous modifications compared to the standard version, which includes a lighter body (91 kg / 200 lbs), a 5-inch shortened wheelbase and more. Power to the model is being provided by a 3.7 liter engine, which is producing a total output of 302 HP (225 kW) at 6,000 rpm, thanks to the three iconic Weber carburetors. This is way more than the 240 HP (179 kW) offered on the standard version. The 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint takes 6.1 seconds and top speed stands at 153 mph (246 km/h).
