A very rare 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO has just become the most expensive car ever sold, order after fetching a whopping 35 million USD.
The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO in question has been made for Sir Stirling Moss but he never got a chance to race it. The Italian supercar has been with its owner for 10 years, who’s bought it for 8.4 million USD, and I think that he was surprised too after being sold for an impressive amount of 35 million USD. By doing a simple math, at the rate at which its price is increasing, in another ten years, the model in question could be worth 100 million USD.
As a quick reminder, only 39 units of the Ferrari 250 GTO were ever made and the model has been produced between 1962 and 1964. The Ferrari 250 GTO is coming as a Berlinetta, with a 3.0 liter V12 engine developing a total output of 300 horsepower, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Ferrari 250 GTO is weighing 1,100 kg and it’s riding on a wheelbase of 2,400 mm long. The 250 GTO has been replaced by the 288 GTO, but even if only 39 units were made, this is definitely one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
