A classic Ferrari 250 GTO has managed to find a new owner who paid no less than 38,115,000 USD for his brand new ride.
Classic supercars have turned out to be a great investment over these past few years as the buyer of a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO recently found out, after paying no less than 38,115,000 GBP for his brand new ride. The car was auctioned just a day ago, during the Bonhams sale, at the Quail. However, this model failed to meet predictions which were saying that it could have become the most expensive car ever sold.
That title is currently owned by a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO, who has been sold last year for a whopping 52 million USD, in a private sale. This particular model was the 19th one to be built and it has been with one family since 1965. The Ferrari 250 GTO has been produced between 1962 and 1964 in just 39 units. The model was designed by Giotto Bizzarrini and Sergio Scaglietti, being offered in a two-door coupe body style with a front mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. The Ferrari 250 GTO is truly the “holy grail” for car collectors.
