The gorgeous Volvo P1800E is hitting the auction block this December and the estimate is actually pointing towards a very affordable purchase of £28, 000 – £34, 000.
First unveiled back in 1961, the Volvo P1800 remains a timeless example of long lasting Swedish design. The model was in production for almost 12 years and had its influence on numerous, upcoming Volvos. Among the main assets at Bonhams’ upcoming London, Olympia, sale in December, this P1800 has the original yellow exterior finish complete with chrome accents and two-tone black wheels with silver accents. Wearing the chassis number 184352U, it was produced at end of the P1800’s lifetime, originally sold and registered in the United Kingdom.
Under the hood should reside the original B20E four-cylinder engine that was first seen after 1970 in lieu of the less powerful B18 four-cylinder. Good for 130 horsepower back in the day, the P1800 could reach 62 mph in 9.5 seconds, and then a maximum speed of 118 mph (189 km/h). The E trim offered some additional goodies such as disc brakes, new wheels, and a different interior, among others. This example has an early estimate of anywhere between £28,000 – £34,000 ($34,144 – $41,449).
