2010 Mercedes SLK with diesel engine

According to Automotive News Europe, the next version of Mercedes SLK will be available with a diesel engine. Sources inside Mercedes have confirmed that the next SLK will have the all-new diesel used in the recently launched C250 CDI. For those who do not know, the new engine from Mercedes is a four-cylinder, with a 2.2 liters of displacement, 150 kW / 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. With such engine, the all new C250 BlueEFFICIENCY Prime Edition accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 7 seconds. This new generation C Class has an average fuel consumption of 5.2 liters / 100 km. with CO2 emissions of 138 g/km.

So, SLK roadster is expected to have an average fuel consumption less that 5.2 liters /100km and an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in less that 7 seconds.
