2011 will bring a new series of trucks in Us – they are aggressive nimble and tougher than ever.
The latest 2011 Ford F-150SVT Raptor allows drivers to take blistering performance off the beaten path. The front suspension has a whopping 11.2 inches of travel, while the rear suspension has 13.4 inches. Coupled with the standard 35-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, the package should be more than adept at tackling boulders or landing a stratospheric jump.
However, Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 is way cooler. VelociRaptor 500 is the perfect name for a Hennessey-built, supercharged, 500-HP Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. It’s fast, it’s scary, and it appeals to the reptilian side of your brain. Stalk! Hunt! Kill! The VelociRaptor goes 0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds. Price: $72,000.
Next comes the Cadillac Escalade EXT and Toyota Tundra Sportsman Edition. Both trucks can claim that they near the Hennessey’s creation. Toyota Tundra Sportsman is just the thing for deer-hunting types. It was jointly produced by Bass Pro Shops and Toyota for SEMA. Toyota started with a 2011 Tundra Double Cab 4×4, adding a 5.7-liter V8 with six-speed automatic transmission, plus a Rock Warrior package from Toyota Racing Development and massive 33-by-12.5-inch Nitto Mud Grapplers mounted on 18-inch ATX Teflon-coated wheels.
If we take sales in our query, trucks were strong last year, and they’re going to be stronger this year. Last month every major automaker besides Mazda reported a year-over-year increase in sales of light trucks (pickups, SUVs and minivans). Most important changes – Ford F Series – 30% up, Chevloet Silverado – 15% up, GMC Sierra and Dodge Ram – 7% up … All over, trucks comprise 54% of the auto market.
Another 2011 Hot Truck that is expected to come on 2011 ( maybe ) is the GMC Sierra All Terrain HD. The 2011 Sierra HD underpins the All Terrain concept, and power comes from a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel V8. A six-speed automatic sends the 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels. Sierra HD comes with 35-inch BFGoodrich KM2 mud terrain tires. Off-road performance is enhanced with the addition of Fox off-road shocks (just like the Ford Raptor).
Another special edition off roader is the Jeep Wrangler Black Ops Edition. Available from November 2010, this special edition Jeep features Black Ops graphics on the roof and front quarter panels, along with standard 32-inch off-road tires, front and rear locking differentials and a two-speed transfer case. It costs $30,625 for the two-door Wrangler or $33,500 for the four-door.
