Audi has recently announced the starting price of the 2012 R8 GT Spyder in the United States, which has been set at $210.000, including a $1.200 destination charge.
According to the German based automaker, The 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder will be available starting from next month, and the model is coming with an aggressive body kit, made out of a front splitter, a rear diffuser and a carbon fiber rear spoiler. Audi says that the sports car is also coming with some carbon-fiber reinforced polymer body panels, a sport-tuned suspension, which is lowering the ride height by 10 mm, high-performance brakes and a magnesium engine frame.
The 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder is powered by the same 5.2 liter V10 engine, which is developing a total output of 552 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 540 Nm (398 lb-ft). The sports car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 197 mph (317 km/h). The 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder is 187 lbs (85 kg) lighter than the standard R8 V10 Spyder and only 333 units will be made world wide, out of which 50 will be available in the United States.
