2012 BMW M3 DTM Safety Car Officially Unveiled
BMW Motorsport has officially unveiled the 2012 BMW M3 DTM Safety Car at the Rhein-Main-Hallen in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The vehicle features a black grille, light bar, ventilated hood and Recaro seats. The engine bonnet has also been replaced with a new bonnet with CFRP with vents. The most spectacular changes are the orange lights on the roof of the car, which are typical of Safety Cars, and the bolted, steel-pipe safety cell.
The safety car is noteworthy since the new DTM regulations for 2012 are aimed at improving the safety of the cars.
The DTM — Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft — will cross the Atlantic in 2013, where an American edition of the DTM will be staged in cooperation with NASCAR.
