After many rumors about the possibility to be unveiled without any manual transmission, the guys from 5post had spotted this 2012 M5 with 6-speed manual gearbox.
So yes – the 2012 BMW M5 will be available with both type of gearboxes – a six-speed manual and the 7-speed DCT transmission.
The H-pattern is covered leading some to speculate that there may be more than 6-gears, but most likely they’re simply covering the M-badge.
However, no words until now about a manual hand-brake. Again, BMW has not unveiled anything about this option, and; all spyphotos show the new M5 with electro-mechanical hand-brake.
The F10 M5 is powered by new high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo Technology that delivers both performance and efficiency significantly increased in comparison to the previous engine.
Numerous drivetrain innovations and other enhancements have lead to a reduction in fuel consumption and emission levels by more than 25 percent.
Match the brawny powertrain with the front-rear weight distribution, suspension tuning, and creature comforts BMW’s M Division is known for, and you have a true world-class super sedan.
