New details of the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 has surfaced recently.
Designed with Sibal’s talents and a collection of rumors and facts, the Z28 is shaping up to be a tremendous competitor, taking the Camaro to new heights thanks to a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA.
Some rumors say the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 could get even more extreme by having the same LS9 engine from the Corvette ZR1, which is good for 638 hp.
Recent spy-photos have also revealed that the next Z28 is likely to get 20-inch wheels and a brake setup similar to that found on the Cadillac CTS-V, which boasts 4-piston rear and 6-piston front calipers.
The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is expected to offer a below 4 seconds acceleration time to 60 mph and a limited top speed of around 155 mph.
All this go-fast goodness won’t come cheap, and the Z28 will be aimed at Ford’s Shelby GT500 Mustang. The Shelby has a starting price of $48,645, so I’d expect the Z28 to slot in right around the same price point.
