The Italian based automaker Fiat has recently announced that the 2012 model year Panda will come with two new engines.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2012 Fiat Panda will hit the market with a choice of two new engines in a two-cylinder form, both of them fitted with the start & stop system as standard. Fiat says that the first engine is a two-cylinder 0.9 TwinAir Turbo which was recently named the International Engine of the Year 2011, developing a total output of 85 horsepower. Besides this one, Fiat is also offering another 0.9 two-cylinder unit, in an aspirated form TwinAir, which is generating 65 horsepower. Other engines available are the 1.2 liter Fire petrol engine with its 69 HP and the 75 HP 1.3 liter Multijet II.
The new Fiat Panda is 365 cm long, 164 cm wide and 155 cm tall, coming in a five-door layout, being able to comfortably accommodate up to five people. The Panda is offering one of the most spacious boots in its segment, 225 liters, which can become 260 with the rear seats folded. The new Fiat Panda is coming with some interesting features like the Blue&Me TomTom Live, the Low Speed Collision Mitigation (LSCM) braking system, the Start&Stop, GSI (Gear Shift Indicator), ecoDrive and ECO mode of the TwinAir Turbo engine and many more goodies.
