It’s here. The 2012 Civic configurator is now online, and there are seven models and up to six different trim levels from which to choose.
The 2012 Civic builds on the success of the current model, whose March sales of 31,213 were up 33 percent over March of 2010.
Several new technologies are available in the 2012 Civic. All 2012 models except the Civic Si, have received Honda’s Eco Assist, a technology that helps enhance efficiency by providing drivers with feedback to promote more fuel-efficient driving behaviors. The new vehicles also have the option to be equipped with a 5-inch LCD “Intelligent” Multi-Information Display which provides access to a variety of customizable features.
The conventional combustion engine powered Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe, high-performance Civic Si Coupe, gasoline-electric Civic Hybrid, Civic Natural Gas and Civic HF, an all-new high fuel economy model are being shown publicly for the first time.
The Civic HF, debuts as a value-saturated, high fuel-economy sedan with an EPA estimated economy rating of 41 mpg at highway speeds, among the highest for a conventional gas vehicle with an automatic transmission.
With six revamped models for 2012, the Civic seeks to cover the spectrum from bare-bones economy and green technology to high performance—at least as high as it gets in this price class. At the bottom is the “except” DX sedan and coupe models, with a starting price of $16,355.
