The safety specialists at Euro NCAP have recently awarded the 2012 Honda Civic with a five-star rating after the recent crash tests.
According to Euro NCAP, the 2012 Honda Civic managed an impressive 94 percent rating in adult occupant protection but only 83 percent in child protection. In case of a frontal impact, the passenger compartment will remain stable and the dummies showed good protection for the knees and femurs during the test. The new Honda Civic also scored maximum points in the side barrier test and in the side pole impact, protection to the head, abdomen and pelvis was good, while protection to the chest was adequate.
“The reward recognized Honda’s CMBS technology as amongst the best available safety innovations, offering proven benefits. Euro NCAP Advanced is an initiative developed in response to the rapid development of new safety technologies, for which there is no independent assessment”, as Honda says.
The new Honda Civic is coming with safety features like the seatbelt pre-tensioners, the company’s Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), curtain airbags, driver and passenger airbags and Vehicle Stability Assist. The Civic’s results in the recent Euro NCAP testings mean that every model which is currently on sale in Europe has achieved a five-star rating.
