Mercedes has released the first images with the new 2012 Mercedes C63AMG, in both sedan and estate body style.
Officially debuting at the 2011 Geneva Salon this March, the AMG sedan and estate variants of the C63 will receive styling and performance tweaks to set it apart.
There’s a lack of the ‘anabolic’ air vents poking out from each front corner of the bumper bar.
The C63’s headlights have been revised for 2012 and a new front fascia houses LED DRLs. On the back, the rear lights also get the LED treatment.
As about the engine, the facelifted 2012 C63 AMG offers the same 457 6.2-liter V8, instead of downsizing to the 5.5-liter V8, and adds a new AMG MCT 7-speed transmission.
Thanks to the MCT seven-speed automatic gearbox, the new car offers a fuel consumption rating of 12L/100km, a significant improvement compared with the 13.4L/100km-rating of the existing model.
A sport package will still be available as well, upping output to 481 horsepower and a top speed of 174 mph. This includes goodies such as new pistons, connecting rods and a lightened crankshaft, allowing the driver to play with 481 hp.
