After seeing what success feels like with the NV commercial van series, the Japanese based automaker Nissan has revealed a passenger version of the van, named the NV3500 HD Passenger Van, which is expected to go on sale in spring 2012, being offered for both personal and fleet use.
Nissan says that its new NV3500 HD is being offered with a choice of two engines, where the base version is coming with the 4.0 liter V6 unit, generating a total output of 261 horsepower and having a peak torque of 281 lb-ft, while a larger V8 can be ordered as an option, with its 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque.
“Just as we did prior to shaking up the commercial van category with the highly innovative Nissan NV, we first did our homework in the full-size van segment by studying the real-world needs, wants and desires of both families and fleet operators. As a result, we’re delivering a vehicle that offers everything owners are looking for – enhanced usability, driver and passenger comfort, flexible storage, dependability, durability and affordable cost of ownership. Then we’ve topped it all off with signature Nissan style, performance and value”, said the VP for Commercial Vehicles and Fleet, Nissan North America, Joe Castelli.
According to the Japanese based automaker, the new NV3500 HD is able to transport 12 passengers with its 4-row seating and flexible configurations for a full-size van, and the vehicle is available in three models: the NV3500 HD S, the NV3500 HD SV and the NV3500 HD SL (V8 only), and its future customers will be able to get many options like the XM Satellite Radio (XM subscription required), 5 inch touch screen SD navigation system, Bluetooth hands-free Phone System, rear view monitor, rear camera and many other features.
