The Stuttgart based automaker has just released its latest creation, the 911 GT3 R, and Porsche is also announcing that an upgrade kit is available for the 2010 and 2011 model years, which can be upgraded to the 2012-spec, but the price of it isn’t quite cheap, exactly like the new GT3 R.
“Amongst racing customers all over the world, the Porsche 911 GT3 R is extremely popular for its forgiving handling and basic speed. And it is exactly in this direction that the improvements for the 2012 model year have been targeted”, as the Stuttgart based automaker is saying in a statement.
According to company, the new Porsche 911 GT3 R’s six-cylinder flat engine in the rear is delivering 500 horsepower, a 20 HP increase, mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox adapted for maximum output. Porsche also says that the new 911 GT3 R has a sophisticated ex-works traction control since the 2010 model year, along with an efficient race-ABS which assists braking.
The new generation of the Porsche 911 GT3 R isn’t what you would call cheap, but then again, if you are a fan of the Stuttgart based automaker than you probably saw this coming: 304.500 euros is the price of one, while the upgrade kit, which will make your 2010 and 2011 model year GT3 R to look like the new kid on the block will cost you 43.100 euros.
