Toyota Motor Corp., on Wednesday announced manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the all-new 950 – MSRP, and will arrive at Toyota dealerships in March 2012.
The Prius c will be available in four grades and will be equipped with a Hybrid Synergy Drive 1.5-liter DOHC, 16-valve engine with VVT-i, a 60 hp permanent magnet AC synchronous motor, and a 144 volt nickel-metal hydride battery which generates 25.9 hp of electric propulsion for a total hybrid system net output of 99 horsepower.
Prius c offers three distinct drive modes: Normal, Eco, and EV mode. Eco mode reduces overall energy consumption by governing climate control and throttle to improve vehicle efficiency. Under certain conditions, the EV mode allows the Prius c to be driven solely by electric power for a short distance (under 1 mile) while remaining below 25 mph.
A 3.5-inch color TFT information display is standard, along with Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone capability, remote keyless entry and iPod connectivity through a USB port.
Optional equipment includes Display Audio with Toyota’s Entune infotainment and connectivity system, a navigation system, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The company said the new vehicle incorporates 17 years of Toyota expertise and technology in the development of mass-produced hybrid vehicles, and boasts a small, light and efficient hybrid system that according to the automaker will offer “the highest city mpg of any non-plug-in vehicle.”
