After being one of the most successful hybrids out there, the Japanese from Toyota have decided to give their popular Prius a small facelift for the next year model, not stopping only at redesigning its exterior.
According to the Japanese automaker, the 2012 Prius will get new bumpers, revised taillights and it will be sitting on new 15 inch alloy wheels, but if customers will order the optional Plus Performance package they will get a seven-piece body kit along with larger 17 inch alloy wheels.
According to Toyota, the 2012 Prius will be powered by a 1.8 liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, delivering a total output of 134 horsepower, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 9.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 180 km/h or 112 mph.
With a 51 mpg urban and 48 mpg on highway fuel consumption, the 2012 Toyota Prius has some minor interior changes too, like the new Entune infotainment system and JBL GreenEdge speakers.
Toyota didn’t announce a price for its 2012 Prius yet but we don’t expect the difference to be more than a few hundred euros.
