The Japanese based automaker Toyota has recently unveiled the 2012 Yaris Hybrid model, offering full hybrid technology in the European B-segment for the first time.
While most automakers are busy these days with the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, with the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon or the event that just ended, the New Delhi Auto Expo, Toyota has chosen to present its latest creation, the 2012 Yaris Hybrid, independently from the automotive events listed above. According to the car manufacturer, the Toyota Yaris Hybrid is coming with redesigned front and rear fascias and even if the model has been fully revealed, it will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.
“The Yaris Hybrid will make its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It combines the ingenious packaging and urban agility of the Yaris model range with the unique driving experience and efficiency of Toyota’s full hybrid powertrain, Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD). The new Yaris Hybrid launch marks a new, major step in the company’s full hybrid roll-out strategy to Toyota core models in Europe”, as the automaker says in its official press release.
The 2012 Toyota Yaris Hybrid is powered by a new 1.5 liter petrol engine, which is 20 percent lighter than the one used in the Auris Hybrid, and together with the HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive) it’s offering a combined total output of 98 horsepower. Sadly this is all we know for now about the new Toyota Yaris Hybrid, but more details will be announced once the model hits the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
