The 2013 Audi S3 Sportback has been officially unveiled ahead of its public debut scheduled for next month during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
After the three-door version has been launched back in September last year, time has come for us to meet the brand new 2013 Audi S3 Sportback. The model weighs 1,445 kg (3,185 lbs), meaning that it’s 70 kg (154 lbs) lighter than its predecessor. The 2013 Audi S3 Sportback has an S sport suspension which is lowering the ride height by 25 mm and it’s now standing on 18-inch wheels, wrapped in low rolling resistant tires, measuring 225/40.
The most important part of the 2013 Audi S3 Sportback is found under its hood, where the 2.0 liter TFSI turbocharged and direct injected engine is resting. The unit is producing a total output of 300 HP (221 kW) at 5,500 rpm and it has a peak torque of 380 Nm (280 lb-ft), available between 1,800 and 5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual or an optional six-speed S Tronic transmission, sending power to the Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. When equipped with the first one, the S3 Sportback can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.5 seconds, while with the last one, the hot hatch needs 5 seconds for the same 0-100 km/h sprint. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
