BMW North America on Tuesday announced pricing for the all-new 2013 BMW 640i Gran Coupe. The new 6 Series will start at $76,895 (including $895 Destination and Handling Charge).
The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe will be offered as three distinct models in the USA. The TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder powered 2013 BMW 640i Gran Coupe is the initial model and arrives early this summer.
Later in the summer, the TwinPower Turbo V-8 powered 2013 BMW 650i Gran Coupe and the all-wheel drive 2013 BMW 650i xDrive Gran Coupe will join the range.
The first of the trio, the 640i Gran Coupe comes with the N55HP, a direct-injected, Valvetronic-equipped inline-6 engine paired to a twin-scroll turbo.
The turbo-6 produces 315 bhp between 5800- and 6,000 rpm and 330 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,300 and 4,500 rpm. In this configuration, BMW states 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) times as 5.4 seconds with top speed limited to 155 mph.
The all-new BMW 6 Series Gran coupe will make its world debut at the Geneva International Auto Show in March and its North American premiere at the New York International Auto Show in early April.
The 640i Gran Coupe will also be previewed at the Amelia Island 2012 Concours d’Elegance in Amelia Island, Florida from March 9-11, the company said.
