The North American based automaker Chevrolet has recently announced its plans to offer a new 1LE package for the 2013 Camaro SS which will go on sale this autumn.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE has been designed for track-day enthusiasts and, as you can see from the images provided by GM, it can be distinguished by a matte black hood, a rear spoiler, a front splitter and large 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle Supercar G:2 tires. Chevy says that the interior is only adding a short-throw shifter and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
“The Camaro 1LE combines the best elements of the SS and ZL1 to take road-racing performance to a whole new level. That the 1LE breaks the three-minute lap at VIR puts it in the upper echelon of performance cars. That it starts under $40,000 makes the Camaro 1LE one of the most affordable, most capable track-day cars offered by any manufacturer”, said the Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser.
The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE is equipped with a sport-tunes suspension system, electronic power steering and unique monotube rear dampers, along with a strut tower brace, an exclusive six-speed manual transmission and a high-capacity fuel pump. The “new” Camaro will go on sale this autumn and it will cost under 40,000 USD.
