The North American based automaker Ford has recently unveiled the 2013 cobra Jet Mustang (M-FR500-C) at the Performance Racing Industry Show in Orlando, Florida.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2013 Ford Cobra Jet Mustang has been designed for NHRA Stock and Super Stock racing. The updated model comes with a lighter body, an electric power steering system and a revised suspension, along with an upgraded braking system for improved pedal feel and a roll cage.
“The 2008 Cobra Jet was a great car. It did everything we wanted it to do,” said George Goddu, business manager, Ford Racing Performance Group. “We’re really proud of that car, but we have spent the last three years improving each offering of the Cobra Jet and we are always trying to make the next one better.”
Ford says that the 2013 Cobra Jet Mustang comes with two 5.0 liter Coyote V8 engines, where the entry-level version is naturally aspirated and the high-performance variant has a 2.9 liter Whipple supercharger. According to the North American based automaker, production for the 2013 Ford Cobra Jet Mustang will be limited to 50 units and its starting price has been set at 85.490 USD for the naturally aspirated version, while the high performance variant costs 63.390 USD.
