After it was officially presented to the public earlier this year, the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport is entering our news once again, this time with the EPA announcing its fuel economy, which has been set at 16 mpg city and at 22 mpg highway.
“Explorer Sports hits a sweet-spot combination of power, usable torque, 4WD capability, with class leading fuel efficiency. The Explorer Sport EcoBoost engine matches Taurus SHO for output and the Terrain Management System has been specifically calibrated to optimize increased power – regardless of the road conditions”, said the chief engineer for the Explorer, Taurus and Police Interceptor vehicles, Bull Gubing.
As a quich reminder, the 2013 Ford Explorer Esport, which is riding on 20-inch alloy wheels, is getting a 3.5 liter twin turbocharged EcoBoost V6, producing 250 HP. The 2013 Ford Explorer Sport is adding a revised front fascia, tinted lighting units, gloss black trim and the 20-inch alloy wheels mentioned earlier, and the cabin of the crossover has been equipped with a dual-zone climate control, with the Myford infotainment system, a Sony audio system, illuminated scuff plates, black leather seats and “technical look trim”. The 2013 Ford Explorer Sport has been officially revealed back in March, 2012.
