The new generation of the Ford Focus ST will be imported to China next year and the model is expected to be more expensive than the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The local media is saying that the new generation of the Ford Focus ST will be imported to China next year and the hot hatch won’t be produced in the country. An European factory is expected to become the donor for the Chinese market of the new Ford Focus ST. The hot hatch is said to be more expensive than its main rival, the Volkswagen Golf GTI, at an estimated 300,000 RMB.
As a quick reminder, the new generation of the Ford Focus ST, which is wearing the 2013 model year in its name, is powered by Ford Motor Company’s 2.0 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is developing a total output of 247 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 265 lb-ft. The hot hatch’s engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which is allowing the model to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 155 mph. Prices for the 2013 Ford Focus ST in the United States start at 24,495 USD.
