The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced that the 2013 Fusion is getting a marketing boost from Tupac Shakur.

The murdered rapper will “help” sell the new generation of the Ford Fusion over-seas in what is probably one of the most desperate attempts to sell cars to the African American community.

“This campaign breaks completely away from anything we’ve done in the past to introduce consumers to a new vehicle utilizing a poem by one of hip hop’s most celebrated artists”, said the Ford manager of multicultural marketing, Shawn Thompson.

The new campaign for the 2013 Ford Fusion has debuted this week and it includes a TV ad. As a quick reminder, the new generation of the Ford Fusion can be bought in the United States from 21,700 USD, shipping included, for the S entry-level version, while the EcoBoost Titanium will set you back for 29,995 USD. Ford says that all versions of the Fusion will get front-wheel drive as standard, while the 2.0 EcoBoost can be ordered with an optional all-wheel drive system for an extra 2,000 USD. The Hybrid will go on sale this year from 27,495 USD.
