2013 Hennessey Venom GT2 to produce 1,500HP

Hennessey has recently announced its plans to offer the 2013 Venom GT2 with an impressive 1,500 HP and with some design changes on its body.

According to the company, the 2013 Hennessey Venom GT2 will get the same carbon fiber body as the 2012 model year and its rear wing will provide the extra downforce needed. A more original design will be found in its front fascia, where Hennessey will drop the Lotus headlights in favor of new ones. A different hood will be fitted to the model, along with new side mirrors and some other styling tweaks.

The 2013 Hennessey Venom GT2 will be powered by a 7.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which will produce a total output of 1,500 horsepower (1,118 kW). The unit will be mated to a six-speed Ricardo manual transmission or to the new seven-speed transmission with paddle shifters, depending on the version chosen by the customer. The new Venom GT2 will be quicker and it will have a better power-to-weight ratio than its predecessor. Additional details on the 2013 Hennessey Venom GT2 haven’t been announced yet, but as a quick reminder, the 2012 Venom GT2 is coming with 1,200 HP from a twin-turbo aluminum engine, allowing the model to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.2 seconds, before reaching a top speed 440 km/h (272 mph).
