Honda has released more official images and details with the new generation of the Accord model, in both sedan and coupe body styles.
After revealing the new generation of the Honda Accord just a few weeks ago, the model is being placed into the spotlights one more time, thanks to some new official images and details on both the sedan and the coupe. Honda says that the engines available on the new Accord include the 2.4 liter four-cylinder direct injected unit with 185 HP at 6,400 rpm and 181 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm. This version is getting either a six-speed manual or the new CVT automatic transmission and fuel economy is rated at 27 mpg in city.
A new 3.5L V6 unit is also available on the 2013 Accord mode, which is getting the i-VTEC technology and cylinder deactivation. The engine is producing 278 HP at 6,200 rpm and 252 lb-ft of torque at 4,900 rpm. This version is only coming with a six-speed automatic transmission for the sedan and with a six-speed manual for the coupe. Fuel economy is rated at 21/34 mpg in city/highway.
A third engine option will be a plug-in hybrid, which will use a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, paired to a lithium-ion battery pack. The total output developed is 196 HP and 226 lb-ft of torque and the version can travel on the electric motor alone for 10-15 miles.
