The future generation of the popular Kia Pro Cee’d has been recently teased by the South Korean based automaker with the “help” of an official sketch.
After the new generation of the Kia Cee’d made its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, in both hatchback and station wagon versions, the South Korean model is once again placed into the spotlights, this time by an official image which is teasing the 2013 Kia Pro Cee’d. Even if there is no official word on the new Kia Pro Cee’d yet, the new generation of the three-door model is expected to carry the same design details from the five-door version, but a subtle more aggressive body kit will also make its way onto the vehicle.
The 2013 Kia Pro Cee’d will have a sportier side profile gained from a lower roof, which will make the model look like a three-door coupe, but besides this, the vehicle will also receive a sportier suspension different from the one fitted onto the five-door brother. Three operating modes, comfort, normal and sport, will also be added thanks to a Flex Steer system for a more dynamic driving experience.
There is no official word on the engine range which will be adopted by the new generation of the Kia Pro Cee’d, but the lineup might be “borrowed” once again from the five-door hatchback, and as an entry-level version, the 1.2 liter petrol turbo direct injection unit, which is expected to develop almost 130 horsepower, will be added. Another engine which might make its way under the new Pro Cee’d’s hood will be the 1.6 liter T-GDI, which can already be seen on the Hyundai Veloster.
