Toyota’s luxury division Lexus decided it’s time to end the teasing game and revealed its newest creation, the GS 450h, ahead of its official Frankfurt Motor Show unveil and even if its debut will take place in Europe, the model will be treated like a US vehicle.
“The all-new GS 450h will provide our customers with exciting blend of performance and precision in a new hybrid package. With its dynamic exterior styling, roomy interior and advanced technology features, the GS 450h further demonstrates Lexus’ mastery of luxury hybrid”, said the company’s vice president and general manager in the US, Mark Templin.
The Japanese automaker says that the new GS 450h is powered by the same 3.5 liter DOHC V6 engine which is delivering a total of 338 horsepower, or almost the same as the old generation. The acceleration time and top speed figures also look pretty much the same as the GS 350 unveiled recently at California’s Pebble Beach event.
Lexus says that their new GS 450h can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph or 96 km/h in 5.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 131 mph or 210 km/h. One thing expected to be improved is the fuel consumption which the automaker says it’s down by 30 percent.
