The German based automaker Mercedes has recently teased the upcoming Antos, which will be officially presented to the public in September, at the Commercial Vehicle IAA.
According to the company, the new Mercedes Antos, which will wear the 2013 model year in its name, has been designed for heavy-duty short radius distribution. The 2013 Mercedes Antos will be offered with a choice of 67 wheelbases, which will range from 2,650 mm to 6,700 mm, more than enough to suit even the most experienced drivers. Besides the many wheelbases, the 2013 Mercedes Antos will also become available as the Antos Loader, for hauling heavy cargo, and the Antos Volumer, for maximum cargo capacity.
“Mercedes-Benz will soon be extending its family of trucks by a new member, the new Mercedes-Benz Antos – a model series designed specifically for heavy-duty short-radius distribution transport use. The vehicles are currently demonstrating their capability in camouflaged guise, but the covers will come off for the Commercial Vehicle IAA in September and the start of sales”, as the automaker is saying in its official press release.
Mercedes-Benz says that the 2013 Antos will be offered with a choice of 13 different engines, which will produce between 235 horsepower and 503 horsepower, mated to a PowerShift transmission. The cabin of the 2013 Antos is 2.3 meters wide and will be offered as short and medium. More details about the vehicle will be announced this September, during the Commercial Vehicle IAA.
