Daimler has unveiled the new 2013 G Class last week. Here are the first official images showing the top of the line AMG model.
The G63 replaces the G55?s supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 with a new, direct-injection twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8, and subsequently sees its power rise. In normally aspirated form, the 5.5-liter V8 makes 382 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. The twin-turbo AMG-modified variant kicks those numbers up to 536 hp and 561 lb-ft.
The AMG version of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz G-Class offers a bold front grille and the LED lights that you find on all models across the range. New side steps and fender flares have also been included.
Other standard features include Blind Spot Assist, the PARKTRONIC parking aid, adaptive cruise control, and a revised electronic stability system with Trailer Stability Assist and hill-hold function.
The 2013 Mercedes G63 AMG and G550 will go on sale in August of this year.
As has been the case for decades, the 2013 G-Class will continue to be assembled at Magna-Steyr’s production line in Graz, Austria.
In Germany, the 2013 G63 AMG will start at € 137,504.50
