2013 MINI John Cooper Works GP to be launched this autumn in the U.S. image

MINI has recently announced that the new John Cooper Works GP will be launched this autumn in the United States, where the model will be priced from 39,950 USD, including the $700 destination charge.

The second generation of the MINI John Cooper Works GP is 18 seconds faster on the North Loop than the first MINI GP and this is also the fastest ever production version of the model. The MINI John Cooper Works GP can lap the Nurburgring in just 8 minutes and 23 seconds and it can hit a top speed of 150 mph while being able to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.3 seconds.

Power to the MINI John Cooper Works GP is being provided by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, which is producing a total output of 216 BHP, with a peak torque of 207 lb-ft. The hot hatch is getting a weight reduction kit, a new adjustable coil-over suspension and more performance goodies, which are making the vehicle almost irresistible. Only 2000 units of the MINI John Cooper Works GP will be produced and out of those, 200 will be sold in the United Kingdom.
