2013 North American Car and Truck of the Year list announced image

The 2013 North American Car and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) list of vehicles has been recently announced but the finalists will be announced in six months, during the Detroit Motor Show.

The 20th anniversary of the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards includes a list of 45 vehicles, with 30 in the car category and 15 in the truck and utility vehicle category. Amongst the ones found in the car list we can mention the new BMW 3-Series sedan, which, in our opinion has the biggest chance of becoming the winner, the Cadillac ATS, the Dodge Dart, the Ford Focus Electric, the Scion FR-S, the new SRT Viper, the Subaru BRZ or the Tesla Model S.

For the 2013 North American Truck/Utility of the year, the Audi Allroad, the BMW X1, the Ford Escape, the Hyundai Santa Fe, the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class or the Ram 1500 will be competing and it’s a hard job to announce a winner in this category. A team of 50 journalists from Canada and from the United States, will vote on their favorite vehicles and the list will be shortened to one winner in each category, which will be announced next year during the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. This year’s winners were the Hyundai Elantra and the Range Rover Evoque.
