The updated version of the Opel Insignia OPC (Vauxhall VXR) is expected to get an even hotter variant which might develop a total output of 400 horsepower.
The German based automaker Opel might keep the updated Insignia OPC, also known in the United Kingdom as the Vauxhall VXL, into the shadows for the moment, but rumors are saying that the 2014 model year is expected to get an impressive power boost from the turbocharged V6 engine. According to the guys at autocar.co.uk, an even hotter version of the Opel Insignia will hit the market soon. Our source is saying that the model will get 400 HP from the modified 2.8 liter V6 engine, but no official details have been announced yet.
Four hundred horsepower from the 2.8 liter V6 engine is a great achievement and, even if some of you might not agree on this, if the price will be right, some future owners of premium small sedans like the BMW M3, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG or the Audi RS4 might turn their heads towards GM, even if the Opel Insignia OPC won’t get rear-wheel drive. In order to cope with the extra power, the updated Opel Insignia OPC might get a new suspension system, larger brakes and a revised all-wheel drive. The model might hit the market with the facelifted version of the regular Insignia in 2013.
