Seat is planning to develop for the first time a three-door version of its medium size hatchback, the Leon SportCoupe, which will be released along with an estate variant, the SportTourer.
After being officially revealed just a week before writing this article, the new generation of the Seat Leon is highlighted once again, this time by Theophilus Chin, who has released a render with the model in its three-door version. The three-door variant of the new generation Seat Leon will be a big break for the Spanish based automaker who wasn’t allowed until now to get new versions by its parent company Volkswagen AG.
Rumors are saying that the 2013 Seat Leon, with its three-door body style, will be named the SportCoupe and, besides this, the car manufacturer is also working on an estate variant, which will most likely be known as the SportTourer. Both versions, the SportCoupe and the SportTourer will carry the same engine lineup as the regular five-door Leon and this will include the EA211 petrol and the A288 diesel. A plug-in hybrid is rumored to make its way onto the model too, in 2014. More details on the 2013 Seat Leon SportCoupe will probably be announced during the Paris Motor Show in September.
