Seat has announced the official starting price of the new Leon generation in the United Kingdom which has been set at 15,670.
According to the Spanish based automaker, the new generation of the Seat Leon is available for orders in the United Kingdom from the 1st of October and the model is coming in three trim levels, the S, the SE and the FR. The entry-level Leon S is coming with an MP3 compatible six-speaker CD player, Bluetooth for hands free calls and air conditioning amongst others. The mid-spec Leon SE is adding the company’s XDS electronic differential lock, fog lights and the leather-wrapped steering wheel, while the FR is coming with a sporty body kit, sports suspension, sports seats and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The new generation of the Seat Leon, which is wearing the 2013 model year in its name, is produced on the same MQB platform as the new Audi A3 or as the new VW Golf 7. A variety of five engines with outputs ranging between 89 HP and 181 HP (135 kW) for the 2.0 liter TDI diesel will be available for the new Seat Leon and the most powerful petrol unit will be the 1.8 liter TSI with its 178 HP (132 kW). The transmissions available for the model will be the five-speed manual, the six-speed manual, the six-speed DSG and the seven-speed DSG. The new Leon is promising to burn an average of 3.8 liters of fuel every 100 km (61.8 mpg US / 74.3 mpg UK) and emit just 99 g/km of CO2.
