The Japanese based automaker Subaru has recently announced that the 2012 WRX STI has been launched in Malaysia, where the model has a starting price of RM249,000 on the road.
Even if the car manufacturer is currently busy promoting the new BRZ sports car, one of the most iconic models to come with the Subaru logo on it, the WRX STI, has just made its way onto the Malaysian auto market where, according to the company, the powerful vehicle has a starting price of RM249,000 on the road. One of the most significant update of the model is the obvious exception of the Impreza name but you can also notice that this is no longer a hatchback and the model is coming as a sedan, in order to compete as an equal to the Mitsubishi Evo.
The 2012 Subaru WRX STI is still powered by the company’s 2.5 liter boxer engine, which is developing a total output of 300 PS and a peak torque of 407 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard or to a five-speed automatic, which is available as an option. The powerful Japanese vehicle is also coming with all-wheel drive, VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control), traction control and many other interesting features, which will make driving more fun than ever.
