The official EPA ratings for the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle TDI Convertible with a manual transmission have been released and the model is returning 28/41 mpg in city/highway.
The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle TDI Convertible equipped with the 140 HP engine, is returning 28/41 mpg in city/highway and 32 mpg in a combined cycle, while the 2.0 liter I-4 engine, with its 200 horsepower and mated to a six-speed manual transmission, is returning 21/30 mpg in city/highway and 24 mpg combined. Volkswagen is saying that the 2013 Beetle TDI Coupe starts at 24,065 USD over-seas with a manual transmission while the DSG variant has been priced at 25,165 USD. The VW Beetle Turbo costs $24,165 with manual and the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle convertible is expected to start at under 30,000 USD.
When powered by the same 2.0 liter turbocharged engine as the Beetle, the Volkswagen Eos, with an automatic transmission, is rated at 22/30 mpg, while the Mazda Miata is returning 21/28 mpg with an automatic transmission. The MINI Cooper Roadsters are rated at 27/35 mpg and the Fiat 500C is estimated at 27/32 mpg. The Smart ForTwo Cabrio is rated at 34/38 mpg with an automatic transmission while the Chrysler 200 Convertible with a 2.4 liter engine is returning 18/29mpg.
