The Kia K4 Concept was officially presented in Beijing as the model in question is offering a preview of an upcoming production car.
The new Kia K4 Concept is offering a preview of a production model which will ride on the same platform as the Hyundai Mistra. The vehicle will be produced in Yancheng in Juansu province, where the Dongfeng Yueda Kia factory is located. The one-off vehicle stands at 4,72 meters in length and it’s riding on a 2,7 meter long wheelbase, having a rearview camera, ESP, six airbags, a spacious cabin, UVO infotainment system, Supervision instrument cluster, push button engine start and much more.
Kia says that the K4 Concept is taking its power from a 1.6 liter GDI turbocharged gasoline burner, which has actually arrived in China for the first time. The unit is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The final production version of the model will also get some 1.8 liter and 2.0 liter naturally aspirated engines, but this aspect hasn’t been confirmed by Kia just yet. The new model will be targeted at family oriented customers, in their 30s or 40s, and it should hit the dealerships in the second half of 2014.
