The first official images with the new generation of the BMW M3 and the M4 Coupe have recently hit the web ahead of its unveil, scheduled for later on today.
The new generation of the BMW M3, along with its two-door brother, the M4 Coupe, is finally here and for the first time we can actually see how it looks like because approximately two years after the new 3-Series generation has hit the market, the company’s fans can now enjoy the high performance version. As you can see from the images posted below, the new BMW M3 Sedan has a new front fascia, dual front air intakes, black kidney grilles, new hood and the carbon fiber roof.
As far as the two-door version goes, the BMW M4 Coupe is looking very similar to the concept car seen just earlier this year, for the first time, during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The vehicle has received the same shade of gold, which is matching the brake calipers, and it also has a carbon fiber roof, which is helping its weight stay low. The overall design of the car is actually sleeker than the one of the M3, but they will handle very similar.
The new generation of the BMW M3 and the BMW M4 Coupe are expected to weigh less than 1,500 kg (3,306 lbs) and to be approximately 25 percent more fuel efficient than the two models they are currently replacing. The engine found under their hoods, a 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo unit, is said to produce a total output of around 430 HP (316 kW) and to get more than 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. Additional details on the two models are currently limited for the moment.
