The very first rendering with the BMW M5 Touring has recently hit the web and it might offer us a first glimpse into the final production version of the model.
After seeing the BMW M5 a long time ago, the model’s fans kept asking whether the German based automaker would produce the Touring variant of the powerful vehicle. No answer came but that doesn’t mean that the model can’t be envisioned and we must admit that the image posted above is showing one interesting looking model.
If it makes its way onto the assembly line, the 2014 BMW M5 Touring will most likely use the same engine as the Sedan, in the same configuration. This means that the 4.4 liter V8 from the F10 will be seen on the M5 Touring too, with the 560 HP, at 5,000 – 6,000 rpm, and 502 lb-ft of torque, available from as low as 1,500 rpm. The engine will be mated to the seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission Drivelogic, with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, allowing the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 4 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.
