The new generation of the BMW X5 has been spied once more, this time with less camouflage on its body, revealing some styling cues borrowed from its smaller brothers.
The upcoming BMW X5, which is wearing the 2014 model year in its name, meaning that it will make its way onto the market by the end of 2013, is ending up in our news once again and this time we have the chance to see it with less camouflage on its body. The new X5 is revealing some styling cues inspired from its smaller brothers, the X1 and the X3 and it will be larger than its predecessor.
The 2014 BMW X5 is getting a prominent front grille, a dual exhaust system and ventilated front fenders, as we can see from the images posted above. The model will also get the latest generation of the xDrive AWD system, along with some new engine options, including the 2.0 liter turbo diesel from the 3-Series F30, with 245 HP (183 kW), a larger 3.0 liter diesel with 302 HP (225 kW) or a 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 version with 402 HP (300 kW). A hybrid variant of the X5 is a possibility too. The new-gen BMW X5 will ride on the “X for All” platform, which will be used on all X models across the range.
