The new generation of the Cadillac CTS, which will wear the 2014 model year in its name, will compete against models like the BMW 5-Series, Audi A6 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Even if there is no official word on the new Cadillac CTS’s future rivals yet, the new generation of the popular sedan over-seas will most likely go against the Germans listed above and this has a lot to do with the new ATS too. As you probably already know, the Cadillac CTS has filled a gap between models like the BMW 3-Series and the BMW 5-Series until now, but thanks to the new Cadillac ATS, which will go against the BMW 3-Series, the Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the CTS has grown and it will go against the 5-Series, the A6 and the E-Class.
Rumors say that the new Cadillac CTS has a longer wheelbase, can comfortably transport three passengers on the rear seats and 40 inches have been added to the leg room. The new generation of the Cadillac ATS is expected to come, in the entry-level version, with a V6 engine, which will generate about 350 horsepower, being mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission instead of the current six-speed auto. More details on the model will probably be announced sometimes next year, probably during an international automotive event, like the Detroit Motor Show.
