2014 Chevrolet Corvette is getting the LT1 V8 engine

The new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette will receive the LT1 V8 engine once the model will hit the market sometimes next year.

After it was teased a few times and with its front fascia leaking not too long ago, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette is ending up in our news once again, this time with the help of some leaked sketches which are revealing the shape of the sports car along with the engine compartment bay. The images posted below are clearly indicating that the new generation of the popular Chevrolet Corvette will use the LT1 V8 engine.

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette will be powered by a 6.2 liter LT1 V8 engine, which will produce a total output of 450 BHP (336 kW) and it will have a peak torque of 450 lb-ft (609 Nm), enough to allow the sports car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just over three seconds, while returning 26+ mpg on the highway. Additional details on the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette are limited for the moment and will be announced during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit on the 14th of January, when the automotive event will open its gates.
