The very first rendering of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Targa has recently hit the web and it might provide us with a first glimpse into a possible production version.
The new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has already been unveiled, a few weeks ago, during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit and the convertible version of the model has been confirmed for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, next month. But this news is about a new version of the sports car, the Targa, which might become a reality. The image posted above is a rendering of the Corvette Targa and it was posted by X-Tomi Design.
Chevy didn’t announce any details to launch the Targa version of the Corvette Stingray but if it will, than the model has a good chance of getting the same LT1 6.2 liter V8 engine under its hood, with direct injection and CVVT, used on the Coupe and Convertible. The unit is producing a total output of 450 HP (336 kW) and it has a peak torque of 450 lb-ft (609 Nm). This is enough to allow the Coupe to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds.
