Chevrolet has recently unveiled the 2014 Cruze Diesel during the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, in a premiere for the U.S. auto market.
The Chevrolet Cruze Diesel has been announced in the U.S. since a few months ago but now the model is close than ever to its future customers, with GM bringing it to the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, in a local premiere. According to the North American based automaker, prices for the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel will be set at 25,695 USD, plus the 810 USD destination charge, which means that the model will be 2,115 USD more expensive than the top of the line Cruze LTZ automatic.
For the money, future owners of the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel will get a 2.0 liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine under the hood, which is producing a total output of 148 HP and it has a peak torque of 258 lb-ft, available from as low as 2,000 rpm. The unit is coming with direct injection and over boost function, which can provide 280 lb-ft of torque for 10 seconds at a time. The new Chevy Cruze diesel is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission which is helping the model return up to 42 mpg on the highway.
